"You get what you pay for and what’s stated. The location is very good, there’s a local supermarket around the corner for supplies. My only issue is, there were urine stains on my toilet seat - I cleaned it myself, how it got there I do not know. Also the service attitude of one of the receptionist (her name is Madhu) left a sour taste for me - I changed my plans and reduced my stay, she demanded that I cannot do that and I cannot leave - without listening to me about the refund which had already been issued. Her peers were much friendlier.
The staff for breakfast were super accommodating and nice, also the two ladies in the cafe downstairs."

"Wow! What a fantastic crew at this hotel. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. Whatever you want, they will help you find. In addition, they have a simple but quite hospitable breakfast with some decent choices. I think what impressed us the most was the care they took to notice of we needed water, seemed lost, or needed help, even hooking us up for a motorcycle rental. Nice job, great staff, walking distance to a romantic dinner on the beach!"

"The Den 23 is a perfect place to stay. The owner is very helpful and goes into detail when explaining and recommending places to visit. He also provides you with a leftlet that has some basic sinhala words. The roof top bar has an amazing view of the city. The staff is helpful and I'll recommend this place if you want to go around Colombo with little effort."

"Booked it because it was the only hotel that had a bathtub in the area. It is not located on the beach, the beach is a free 10 min shuttle away. The pool is nice and big, the breakfast has a wide variety of food and is delicious, loved the tv speaker in the bathroom. Partial sea view is not very good. I feel like they put everyone on the same floor. Construction was happening outside but it couldn’t be heard in the room because of the sound proofing."

"Centrally located with easy access to key spots: 15 mins to Galle Face Green, 10 mins to the Red Mosque and Pettah Market, and 5 mins to Dutch Hospital Food Arcade. Most places are walkable, with plenty of tuktuks around when needed.
Queen Bedroom was spacious and fairly clean. Basic amenities provided, but you’ll need to request a hair dryer and iron (no ironing board). My TV didn’t work, but aircond was cold.
Overall, a solid and convenient stay for exploring Colombo."

KKiana MendozaA nice, luxurious end to my first time in Sri Lanka. Room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the Lotus Tower, and service is extremely attentive. Breakfast was extremely diverse, and a server was eager to make local Sri Lankan recommendations which I really appreciated. However, the layout of the place is a little difficult, so be prepared to use a few different elevators to get around

UUthpalaI recently stayed at The Kingsbury Colombo from April 2 to April 8, 2025, and I must say — every moment of my 7-day, 6-night stay was nothing short of exceptional. As a local living overseas, I was truly impressed by the world-class hospitality I experienced here.
From the very beginning, the concierge team stood out — they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Their warm attitude and impeccable service went far beyond my expectations, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay.
Special thanks also to the housekeeping staff, who maintained my room perfectly. They were polite, efficient, and ensured that everything was clean and comfortable every day.
One unforgettable highlight was the in-room dining experience. I ordered the black pork curry with pol roti — and it was simply divine! Without exaggeration, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, full of authentic Sri Lankan flavor and prepared to perfection.
Overall, The Kingsbury Colombo exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is super clean, secure, and the staff make a genuine effort to create an exceptional experience for every guest. Whether you’re a local or a foreign traveler, I highly recommend staying here at least once — you’ll truly understand the meaning of top-tier hospitality.
Looking forward to spending my next vacation with them again!

GGuest UserThis hotel has THE BEST possible staff ever! These people are really helpful-my flight was at 4AM and they let me stay at the waiting lounge until midnight. I’m super satisfied! The only bad thing is that they don’t have a coffee machine for the guests during the meals (open buffets) and they add 40% tax and service to the prices at their restaurants 🙈

CCJ12A beautiful building in a very pleasant area of Colombo; the architecture and interior design of the hotel are a joy to behold and the vast majority of staff are polite and courteous. Plenty of amenities nearby to suit all tastes and interests. The breakfasts were great both mornings (both the Sri Lankan breakfast and the Western style), and they really lived up to the high expectations we’d had from the Instagram marketing we’d seen.
We were upgraded to the North West Suite, which was a larger room, for which we were greatly appreciative; a couple of issues with working plugs and appliances (coffee machine and hair dryer) were reported and rectified, although the wiring/plugs more broadly were temperamental and poorly placed (as expected, possibly, with the charm of an older hotel). However, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the bathroom was well appointed.
Our only qualm was with the overzealous Head of Housekeeping, who seemed to not grasp the subtlety required for such a role, or the privacy with which guests might like to enjoy the beautiful hotel. It appeared that he lingered all too often in search of a tip, and didn’t quite appreciate the boundaries one might desire when paying a reasonable fee for each night. My wife and I took to speedily locking the door and placing the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the handle to keep his incessant interrupting to a minimum. His deputy was, however, an asset to the hotel, who seemed to comprehend the subtle art of providing high quality service for a luxury stay in a lovely hotel.
All-in-all, a great choice for a hotel in the heart of Colombo, and hopefully, during a busier season, the aforementioned Head of Housekeeping might spread his overbearing attention across the many rooms of the hotel.
